the sawdust toilet
This wattle and daub outhouse is made with reed mats woven around juniper poles. It is plastered on the outside with lime-clay and clay and sand on the interior.

The sawdust toilet inside costs a lot less than a composting toilet and a lot less digging than an outhouse.
